Mrs. Kitty Kao was born and educated in Hong Kong.  She obtained her Honors Bachelor Degree in Arts from the University of Hong Kong.  She has also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Management Studies from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a Certificate course in Counseling at University of Hong Kong.  Since migrating to Canada in 1990, Mrs. Kitty Kao has completed a Career Counseling Program at George Brown College, and an Immigration Practitioner Course at Seneca College.  She was awarded the highest honor in a class of 200 students at Seneca College.

Mrs. Kitty Kao worked as a Public Education Officer with the Hong Kong Government in 1980.  In 1983, she was hired by the Chinese University of Hong Kong as a Student Counselor working at the Student Services Department assisting university students to plan for their postgraduate studies as well as to find jobs in their field of interests.  Since migrating to Canada in 1990, she was working as a Program Director with the Parachute Community Employment Centre (a Canadian government funded non-profit organization), assisting thousands of youths and immigrants to find employment and to settle in Canada.

With the increase in the number of students arriving in Canada, Mrs. Kao saw an increasing need to help students to settle and to integrate into the Canadian education system, as well as the Canadian society at large.  She has developed a special education program, “Leading to a Successful Life” for newly arrived international students.  This program is to help students to assess their academic abilities and their personalities, as well as to develop a custom-designed plan for young people to develop their academic and social skills, identify their interest and career aspirations which lead to ultimate success in their school and career development in Canada.  This program is highly recognized and wins a lot of positive feedback from the international student community.

The “Leading to a Successful Life” program was supported by a team of professionals including educators, psychologists, social workers, lawyers and related professionals.  Mrs. Kao is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.  She is able to help each unique student to design a custom-made plan to assist each and every student to move a step forward towards their successful life.
